Past magazine front cover - January 2024
In January 2024 - I created a Big Issue front cover of singer The Weeknd. The aim of this pretend advert was to connect with the Big Issue audience and reach out to a younger audience, I did this by evidently using popular teenage pop culture celebrity Abel Makkonen Tesfaye - who has expressed his journey from poverty to superstardom - in particular, growing up in Scarborough (Canada) where poverty and crime levels were high. I edited this cover entirely on Photoshop - where I used a picture of the star to create a warm and passionate tone with colours of red and oranges - whilst following the Big Issue’s house style of using complex styles as their backgrounds.
